There will be live music from local band ‘Innocent Bystanders’ starting at 1pm. The famous ‘Gladstone Yabby Races’ are on again, along with wife racing, face painting and a jumping castle for the kiddies.

The sausages will be sizzling with the barbecue running all day and the Two Sisters Restaurant will be open so don’t miss out, book in early.

Our courtesy bus will pick you up and drop you home. So bring a picnic blanket and spend Australia Day at the Gladstone Hotel, Newbridge.

"CELEBRATE CITY'S RURAL HERITAGE"

THIS year’s Australia Day theme celebrates Bathurst’s rural heritage, in conjunction with ‘Year of the Farmer’. Kicking off the celebrations is a barbecue breakfast in Eglinton at 8am followed by the citizenship ceremony in Machattie Park from 9.30am.

The main celebrations will also be held in Machattie Park from 10am and embrace all that is Australian. There’s plenty for each member of the family, from sheep shearing demonstrations and a reptile petting zoo, to face painting, jumping castles and sling shots.

Come along and participate in milking and feeding the dairy cows and calves while learning all about the Australian dairy industry. There’s wine tasting for the parents, ice cream for the kids and authentic Australian foods for everyone to enjoy.

Don’t forget to check out the Australia Day stage with live music, dancing and Tedd Webber reciting genuine Aussie poetry. It is sure to be a fantastic day out celebrating both our nation and our local rural heritage.
