"SPREADING SUSTAINABILITY SKILLS"

HUMANITY is now living in ways which outstrip the capacity of the earth to provide an equitable, healthy lifestyle for future generations.

With seven billion people on our earth, we are reaching natural resource constraints, which will drive fundamental changes to the way we live and work.

With the completion of the Flannery Centre just around the corner, Skillset has wasted no time developing a range of sustainability initiatives to help individuals and businesses looking for sustainable solutions to save money and lessen their environmental impact.

Skillset has started delivering sustainability training to councils, businesses, individuals and groups across NSW, including teachers from the Catholic Education Office and Electrolux staff in Orange.

In addition to providing an understanding of the issues we face and their likely impacts, sustainability training can improve efficiency and competitiveness.

An aspect of Skillset’s sustainability training is the Sustainable Living Course to help all parts of the community gain an understanding of the issues and also provide some practical advice on how to make changes at home and in everyday life.

In conjunction with Green Homes Australia, Skillset has also developed the My Green Home Rating Tool, which helps people renovating or building to identify and implement changes that will save money on power and water bills, add to the value and improve the efficiency of their home.

The collaboration between Skillset and Green Homes Australia has also seen the development of the Green Tick; a Business Sustainability Coaching Program for businesses interested in making the transition to sustainable ways of operating.

Skillset is committed to building the resilience of businesses and individuals in communities; initiatives that support economic, social and environmental sustainability will continue to broaden through the Flannery Centre upon its completion in March this year.
