"Professional and prompt"

WITH more than 20 years’ experience in the trade, it’s easy to see why Fridgcon is the refrigeration and cooling expert.

Fridgcon covers all areas of domestic and commercial air conditioning and commercial refrigeration, serving the Bathurst, Orange, Lithgow, Blayney and Oberon areas.

Owner and manager John Cook says the business prides itself on friendly, professional and prompt service. The business is also the sole local dealer for Daikin air conditioners, wellknown in the industry for superiority over other brands.

“There is a five-year parts and labour warranty and Daikins are also well suited for Bathurst’s colder climate,” John said. “Some systems can’t handle the colder months and freeze up. Daikin are the superior systems.”

Fridgcon currently has some great deals with 15 per cent off Daikin ducted systems 10 kilowatts and bigger. Call for an obligation-free quote.

"Speedway memories live"

ASH Suttor has realised a lifetime ambition by opening a museum dedicated to motorcycle speedway. Many speedway memories have been lost over the years but Ash is dedicated to preserving as many of the great ones as possible.

“I have been a speedway fan for many years,” he said. “In my early teens I watched speedway at the Ekka Speedway [in Brisbane] on Channel 9 on Saturday mornings.

“Over the years I have collected memorabilia which was all displayed in my home. “I have decided to put this all on show to the public, to share these memories, and have therefore opened my museum.

“My collection includes items from the 1920s and continues as new items are found. I have found items from all parts of the world, including Australia, New Zealand, England, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, France and South Africa.”

Ash said speedway in Bathurst dates back to the 1920s, and many speedway stars originated in Bathurst and surrounds.

“These include 1938 World Speedway Champion Bluey Wilkinson, 1970s star, Glen McDonald, Johnny Langfield from the 1960s to 1970s and present day NSW captain, Tim Heffernan,” he said.

Ash is happy for anyone to loan items for display. “Anyone is welcome at any time to drop in for a coffee, chat and visit down

memory lane. I have to work weekdays, so I can keep up my speedway addiction,” he said.

The museum is open Saturdays and Sundays, 10am to 4pm.

"Waterloo goes worldwide"

ONE of the region’s best manufacturing success stories is continuing to shine during these tough economic times. It involves Waterloo brand toilet and shower partitioning systems.

Proudly manufactured in Bathurst by CTCI Pty Ltd, Waterloo products are distributed Australiawide and exported overseas.

Moving to new premises in June last year, the CTCI team commissioned a new beam saw to complement their extensive range of state-of the-art woodworking machinery.

Sales and marketing manager Gregg Longmuir said the current financial year is shaping up as a rewarding one for the business. “Strengthening the business is our newly appointed general manager, Michael Ireland, who brings to us an extensive construction and management background,” he said.

‘We are working together with Skillset to implement a shopfitting apprenticeship – the first in the company’s history. “We are currently advertising for positions in sales, production and installation to keep pace with the company’s growth. “We are very proud of our achievements to date but refuse to rest on our laurels. We have just released a new washroom equipment brochure, installation guides to four new partitioning systems and a new colour selection brochure, and we have more new product releases planned later in the year.”

The business welcomes wet area joinery inquiries from architects, designers, builders or joiners and other interested parties.
