A spokesperson from the RTA said the project involved sealing and widening bends.
“The project improved six separate bends on the road where a number of crashes have been reported,” the spokesperson said. “The bends were widened by 2.5metres to make them easier to negotiate.
“A guard fence has also been installed to protect motorists from trees on the edge of the road and the steep embankment.
“As an extra safety measure markers have been put in place to alert motorists of the bends as they approach.
“The improvements will help make Duckmaloi Road safer for everyone using the road.”
The $395,000 project was fully funded by the Federal Government’s Accident Blackspot Program.
Work started in November 2010 and was completed by Oberon Council.
