David is a headline winner

01 Jul, 2009 08:13 AM
When David Goldney picked up his phone yesterday morning he got quite a surprise. He won $200 just by answering a question of about what was on the front page of that day’s Western Advocate.

Our $200 Phone Call winner said he didn’t even know there was a prize on offer so it was a great surprise.

“I had quickly looked at the headlines and put the paper aside to read over breakfast,” he said.

Every day of the competition random local phone numbers will be called.

The reader who can tell us what the front page story is about will win a $200 cash prize.

Mr Goldney said he has had the Advocate home delivered every day for the past 37 years. He thinks he just might be one of Theobald’s Newsagency’s longest serving customers.

“I think it is essential to read the local paper to keep in touch with what is happening,” Mr Goldney said.

Bruce Fearnley of Kelso was Monday’s $200 winner.
