The former local councillor will take on the 70km short course event.
His decision to take part in the B2B is typical of why it has become the number one participation event on the Cycling NSW calendar.
“There’s a group of us who are all in our 40s now who were looking to improve our fitness,” he said yesterday.
“The B2B presented the perfect challenge. Cycling is a user-friendly sport for weary joints, so we all decided to give it a go.
“The training has been fun and everyone in the cycling community has made us feel very welcome. We’ve ridden the course once, so we know what we’re up against.”
Mr Stocks said the scenic course presented a few challenges, including the initial stages.
“After the climb out of Newbridge, though, it’s a nice roll into Bathurst.”
He said the fact funds raised were going to the local headspace organisation made it all the more worthwhile.
