Land lovers eye new blocks

10 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM
DOZENS of eager buyers are expected to boost demand for 43 new blocks that are now available for sale at Llanarth.

Bathurst Regional Council’s latest land release, along Evernden Road, Westbourne Drive and Blaxland Drive, comprises lots ranging in size from 758 square metres to 1210 square metres, valued at between $135,000 and $150,000 each.

The lots will be sold by ballot and a spokesperson for council yesterday said registrations were now open.

“The ballot will be held in the council chamber at the civic centre in Russell Street on Tuesday, February 21 at 10am,” the spokesperson said.

“Interest leading up to the ballot has been high, and the draw will be restricted to a maximum of two blocks per person.

“Registrations close at 4pm on Friday, February 17. All registrations received must include a $2000 part deposit, which will be fully refunded to unsuccessful applicants.”

Council is also preparing to sell another 40 residential lots in its Windradyne 900 land release.

Those lots range in size from 918 square metres to 1591 square metres and the development is on Swanbrooke Street, Miller Street, Chesterman Close, Mulley Close and Meehan Street.

Windradyne 900 is expected to go on the market around the middle of the year.

Council stands to make about $6 million from the sale of the Llanarth and Windradyne lots.
