A BATHURST serviceman who died during the Vietnam War, will be honoured by the Bathurst RSL Sub Branch during a brief presentation at the RSL Club on Saturday, February 20.

The Sub Branch will make a presentation to the sister and brother of the late Harold Hurst, a young Bathurst man who served with the 1st Field Royal Australian Engineers.

Sub-branch spokesman Brian Tobin said yesterday that the branch was pleased to have been able to arrange for the presentation of an honour board to the family of the late Maisie Hurst, mother of the young engineer who was among four soldiers connected to Bathurst to die in Vietnam.

Mr Tobin said that a member of the RSL, Mick Sutherland had done a wonderful job making the honour board which includes a photo of the late Harold Hurst, his combat badge and medals from Vietnam.

The honour board would be presented to Helen Farr and Keith Hurst, a sister and brother of Mr Hurst during a brief ceremony at the RSL Club about 5pm on Saturday, February 20.

Members of the RSL and Sub Branch and a returned serviceman Bill Wilcox who was serving alongside the late Mr Hurst when he gave his life, would be attending the presentation.
