A BATHURST man who came under police notice after reports of a brawl late at night could have been facing other charges on top of using offensive language before the Bathurst Local Court.
Police said Richard James Andrews, 27, had been observed in the vicinity of lower Seymour Street about 2.10am on January 10, after reports of a brawl in the neighbourhood.
The court took into account the circumstances of the offence fining Andrews $100 allowing him 28 days to pay after hearing Andrews had been the only person a police patrol came across.
Acting police prosecutor, Sergeant Keith Ridley said Andrews had been observed kicking out at cars in a nearby parking lot. The police patrol had investigated but were satisfied no damage had been caused.
An unknown couple had also been seen walking in the area by police. They had been approached by Andrews who had been moderately affected by alcohol and swearing when warned about his use of offensive language in public.
Andrews had remarked that the police warning was "bull shit" when they took him into custody issuing a field court attendance notice, but at the same time driving Andrews home to Lambert Street, Bathurst.
