The launch was held in association with the Bathurst Business Chamber’s ‘Business After Hours’ meeting.
Clancy Motors’ dealer principle Greg Brimble said more than 80 people attended the launch.
“Bathurst Business Chamber president Peter Sargent opened the evening and Ford Eastern Region Manager Chris Liddis addressed the gathering followed by a video presentation of the history of Clancy Motors and the evolution of the Falcon,” Mr Brimble said.
“Bathurst Mayor Paul Toole then unveiled the FG6E turbo.”
Mr Brimble said the G series has replaced the traditional Falcon Futura/Fairmont series with a whole new range of products.
“The base model FGXT Falcon has standard five-speed automatic gearbox,” he said.
“Next is the G6 and the G6E, which has European styling.
“The flagship car is the G6E Turbo which combines the finesse and luxury of a world class passenger sedan with the sports performance of a 270kW engine.”
Mr Brimble attended the national dealer launch of the new FG Falcon in Melbourne about six weeks ago.
“That launch was followed by the media launch and Thursday evening’s launch in Bathurst marked the arrivals of the first of the new cars in Bathurst,” he said.
“The new model was incredibly well received on the night and the feedback was fantastic.
“This is a car that will be a segment leader for Ford.”
Also present at the launch were members of the Bathurst Under 15 representative netball team which is sponsored by Clancy Motors.
Members of the team acted as waitresses/hostesses for the evening.
Clancy Motors is expecting delivery of 18 of the new model vehicles over the next three weeks.
