The popular takeaway shop was charged with having grease, oil and “visible matter” present on floors and walls and having evidence of cockroach and mice activity.
Both offences cost the shop $330 each and were issued by Bathurst Regional Council.
The offences occurred October 31, 2008 and the penalty notices were served November 15.
According to the NSW Food Authority’s website, details of this penalty notices were first published on February 3.
A spokesperson from Bathurst Regional Council yesterday said it was against council policy to comment on specific businesses and their offences.
The revelation of the Yummy Noodle Box breaches came as the website of food law offences named a Blue Mountains bakery which sold a loaf of bread containing a cigarette butt.
A spokesperson from the food authority said everyone has a right to know about food outlets which fail to meet industry standards.
“NSW consumers have the right to know what food businesses are cutting corners and potentially putting their health at risk. Armed with this information via the name and shame website, consumers can make up their own minds where to eat,” the spokesperson said.
“NSW is the first state to introduce this online register, which over 1.5 million people have accessed in nine months.
“It can take from four to six weeks for a business to appear on the website. Outlets identified are checked by council or Food Authority officers to ensure they have rectified the problem they have been fined for.
Primary Industries minister Ian Macdonald said the website allows people to search by trading name, suburb, postcode, date and type of violation.
