Solicitor Greg Wilkin-son yesterday appeared on behalf of his client, Janeen Hosemans, saying his client pleaded not guilty to the charge of obtaining financial advantage by deception between Janu-ary 16 and December 13, 2006.
Mr Wilkinson said Ms Hosemans, 44, of Piper Street, is disputing the statement of facts and asked a brief be served.
Ms Hosemans has not yet appeared in court to answer the charge.
When it was last mentioned in Bathurst Local Court, police prosecutor Sergeant Philip Donato told Magistrate Thomas Hodgson police would be prosecuting the case against Hosemans.
According to the charge laid by the Common-wealth Service Delivery Agency, Hosemans engag-ed in conduct to obtain financial benefit for herself through single parenting payments at a higher rate then she was entitled to from Centrelink.
None of the details of the case have yet been outlined by Sgt Donato.
Mr Hodgson ordered a brief be served by December 3 and adjourn-ed the case until Decem-ber 17.
