SHOWTIME is on its way.
The annual Royal Bathurst Show will be held this weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 5-7.
It's the biggest event on the region's community calendar and the 2010 extravaganza is shaping as one to remember.
Those racing and performing pigs are back by popular demand, but there's much, much more for all the family to enjoy.
The Hilux V6 Heroes are bound to excite the crowds with their thrill-a-minute show on wheels.
They will bring their high-adrenalin, heart-thumping stunt driving thrills to the main arena for their world-class show.
Driving a modified version of the V6 Toyota Hilux , five of Australia's top motorsport drivers will balance on two wheels, soar through 12 metres of blue sky and show off their repertoire of silky skills, including, nose-to-nose driving, reverse hand break turn flicks, a range of vehicle jumping displays and high speed crossovers.
The fireworks display at the Royal Bathurst Show are among the best at any regional show in the nation and 2010 will be no different.
A new innovation this year is the "On the Green" area where families can gather and be entertained all day and night for free, after gate admission.
Kelso High School's Cirkus Surreal will entertain the masses while favourites such as the snakes and reptile show, woodchop, shearing competition, ute parade, rodeo, fashion parade, Iron man, yard dogs, polocrosse and grand parade are not to be missed.
Harness racing fans will be able to enjoy a series of events with the mini trotters also strutting their stuff.
President of the Bathurst Agricultural, Horticultural and Pastoral (AH&P) Association Brian Welch says the 2010 Royal Bathurst Show marks a turning point in the history of the event.
"It's our 150th show and we're really aiming to make it a community event," he said. "We have the Showmen's Guild of Australasia back as the supplier of amusements in sideshow alley after a two year absence and we're really excited to have them back on deck.
"Our 'On the Green' area will be family friendly and offers great value once you get into the showground. We've kept ticket prices at a very affordable charge with a family pass (up to five people, maximum of two adults) at only $30 for the Friday, $40 for Saturday and $35 Sunday.
"I look forward and hope that everyone from the Bathurst region and beyond comes to this year's show. I think they will be more than impressed."
Mr Welch said the return to better on the rural scene meant the pavilions would be full of wonderful exhibits while the livestock and wool sections were being strongly supported.
"And as is tradtional for Bathurst, the main arena will be buzzing with horse events over the duration of the show," he said.
