Police said tradies’ utilities had become popular targets for thieves.
In one incident, tools were stolen from the tray of a utility parked in Musgrove Avenue, Kelso,
and tools were also taken from a padlocked toolbox on the back of a ute parked in Ecrates Place, Kelso.
Tools and a stereo were stolen from a ute parked and secured at a business in Hampden Park Road.
In separate incidents, two CB radios were stolen from a vehicle parked in Kirkcaldy Street, South Bathurst, and thieves smashed a window to gain entry to a vehicle parked and secured in a car park attached to a business in Howick Street.
In the second attack, the offenders ransacked the vehicle but failed to find any valuables.
All the latest thefts were reported to police between Thursday and Saturday, prompting police to re-issue their warning about leaving valuables in unattended vehicles.
A police spokesperson said it was up to motorists to make a special effort to deny thieves the opportunity to commit these crimes.
Police advise that motorists always take personal belongings with them when they leave a vehicle.
“Navigator devices, mobile phones, wallets, handbags and loose change are a prime target for offenders,” the spokesperson said.
“Always lock windows and doors every time you leave your vehicle, even in your own driveway.
“At night, where possible, secure your vehicle in a lockable garage.
“And never leave your keys in the ignition and don’t hide spare keys in your vehicle.”
