Her older sister has had great success since leaving Premier League Hockey and Bathurst City talent Bec Lee is hoping that she can reach a similar level.
Tamsin Lee left at the end of 2008 to join the NSW Arrows side and since then she has represented Australia in the Junior World Cup in the United States.
Bec Lee’s career in Bathurst has also drawn to a close with the 18-year-old looking to move to Wollongong for university in 2010.
She almost had a fairytale finish after City made the grand final, but her hopes of a third consecutive title were dashed when St Pat’s ran out 2-0 winners.
However, she can be satisfied that she was one of the most dangerous players for her team during the game, making several damaging runs and just missing with a shot at goal during the second half.
“I would have liked a bit more time on the field, but I thought I played pretty well and we were a bit unlucky,” the young forward said.
“I just don’t think we put it in the net when we should have. We had a lot of time in their half and corners that didn’t come off.”
Lee said her time at Bathurst City had been mixed, but she was looking forward to making the step up to the Sydney competition.
“There have been ups and downs, there have been some really good games and some not so good ones,” she said.
“I’m thinking of going to Wollongong University and playing state if I get in the team and I’ll play in the Sydney Metro League.”
