Chantal Hodson has played a key role in the Jack Newton NSW team handing the Greg Norman Queensland side a heavy defeat in State of Origin golf at Newcastle Golf Club on Tuesday.

The Bathurst star won all four of her games over the two-day event as NSW scored a dominant 19 to 11 win to again successfully defend its title.

The Sky Blues were strong on the opening day of the competition taking a three- point lead but they saved their best for day two as they dominated the singles competitions in the afternoon to guarantee victory.

Like they did a day earlier, The Australian clubmates Hodson and Carly Beck teamed up to contest the foursomes event against Nadine White and Michelle Pericic and after nine holes they had a one- up lead. That increased as they turned onto the back nine and they scored a 3 and 2 win.

NSW and Queensland split the points with the home team winning all three girls matches and the their northern rivals taking out the boys.

Hodson lined up against White in the individual matches in the afternoon and was able to secure another 3 and 2 victory to help her state. Seven of her 11 team-mates were able to claim the points as well.

Beck scored a 3 and 2 win over Pericic while the biggest win came from Ruben Sondjaja in the 14 years boys division as he beat Queenslander Lucas Harris 6 and 5.

The talented Bathurst 16-year-old said she was delighted with the result and pleased with her current form.

"I won all four games and we beat Queensland 19-11 so it was a pretty good outcome. We've beaten them for the last few years now," she said.

"We had a pretty good team. I got a bit edgy there for the last few holes of the singles match but it turned out alright.

"I was definitely really happy with the way I was hitting the ball and putting. I had confidence in every aspect of my game and it was another good week for me."

Hodson said it was good to team up with Beck rather than playing against her.

"Carly and I are really good friends and it's good to able to team up with her rather than competing against her. That's one of the best things about the State of Origin, it's a fun tournament to play in," she said.

Hodson carried good form into the State of Origin series, finishing second in the Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation Week of Golf behind Beck and taking out the 16 years division. She followed that with a third place at the 2010 Women's Lake Macquarie Amateur at Belmont last week with rounds of 75, 72, 69 and 77.

"I finished third overall and that was a great outcome against the top amateur players in the state. It was great to be playing against the likes of Julia Boland and Justine Lee," she said.

Hodson will now enjoy a short break but she is hoping to play in the NSW Open in early February and then the Riversdale Cup in Victoria.
