After four tests BLCC club champion and NSW khanacross champion Robert Dean took outright honours in his Subaru Impreza with a total time of 334.64.
Dean’s son Callum shared the Impreza and finished a fine second with 348.28 while Newman was third in a Subaru WRX – very close to the second car finishing with 348.64.
The three Subaru drivers dominated the event, with Robert Dean winning three of the four courses, the first just 0.75 seconds ahead of Newman. The second was won by Callum Dean, 0.24 ahead of his father, and the next by Robert Dean, 4.4 secs ahead of Newman. In the fourth and final it was once again Robert Dean, this time 0.79 secs ahead of his son.
Best of the two-wheel drive cars was Mark Tobin who finished fourth outright in his Toyota Corolla, while fastest of the female competitors was Linda Bennett in the Hyundai.
Newman was first of the juniors, ahead of Brad Shiels who was taking time out from circuit racing duties and driving a Suzuki Baleno. Greg Hallet was third in the Hyundai.
Class winners were Robert Dean, Tobin, Paul Newman (Datsun), Rhys Tutton (Laser), Sarah Munday (Celica), Alan Paul (Skyline), Scott Sims (Corona), Gwyn Mullholland (Commodore).
This Saturday night the BLCC will conduct its Christmas in July party, featuring a trivia night.
The club’s next event will be an evening motorkhana on August 14.
