Mrs Wallace and Mr Herbert are terrified something horrible has happened to Andrew Russell.
The 23-year-old was reported missing on June 21 and the pair want him to know they want him  back with them.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[The Bathurst Local Aboriginal Land Council (BLALC) has assured the community that their land claim victory over the Sir Joseph Banks Nature Reserve won’t affect the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
The council’s chief executive officer Warwick Peckham yesterday said that whatever the land ends up being used for, it would “definitely not” have an impact on the races.]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[Guilty plea for violent attack]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[A MAN who provoked Bathurst police in the first local use of a Taser stun gun had his bail revoked immediately this week when he pleaded guilty at Bathurst Court House to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and causing malicious damage.
Magistrate Jan Stevenson ordered that Gary Milton, 21, be taken into custody for sentencing over what the magistrate called “an outrageous assault”.
“I’ve seen a lot, but not seen one of such a calibre for some time,” she said.]]></description>

The boys at Bathurst Fire Station have been donating all their spare ties to the Tie Up Prostate Cancer challenge.
And for firefighter David Press, the cause comes very close to home.
“This is a personal thing for me because I am suffering from prostate cancer,” Mr Press said.]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[Cases of whooping cough on increase]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[THE number of cases of whooping cough being reported in the Bathurst region is on the increase.
So far this year 50 people have been diagnosed with the reportable and highly contagious disease.
There were 16 cases identified in the Bathurst area during June.
This was up from 10 cases in May, four during April, three in March, nine in February and eight in January.]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[Cost of electricity to jump]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[At a time when consumers are being slugged with price rises across the board Bathurst residents now face one of the biggest leaps in the cost of electricity they can remember. 
Power bills will rise by an average of 20.2 per cent from this week. The independent pricing regulator IPART approved the massive jump.
Country Energy’s regional general manager Chas McPhail yesterday said a typical Country Energy household can expect to pay about $3.95 extra per week.]]></description>
