Representatives of the group were in the Bathurst City Centre yesterday to ask locals what they think of the service, as well as handing out information and timetables.
Mrs Hollis said people who have used the service have said it is excellent, much needed, inexpensive and punctual.
She said generally people are extremely happy with the train.
“People are impressed,” she said.
“There is even a coffee van parked outside the station Monday to Friday so people can get their coffee to go.
“Ticketing is still a bit of an issue, but overall people have really embraced it.”
A Wallerawang woman who stopped by the stall said 0 people are also loving the service.
“They are saying it’s comfortable, clean and fantastic,” she said.
Mrs Hollis said the patronage is far above the group’s expectations.
Another thing she found interesting was the fact that quite a few people were not aware the service runs seven days a week.
“People are finding it exciting that they can go down to Sydney and back on the weekend,” Mrs Hollis said.
“Some have said they have gone down for the day to see the Christmas decorations, others have gone sightseeing and teenagers have gone down to the beach for the day.
“I’ve talked to some people who haven’t been down to Sydney for years because the coach system was too complicated.
“However, what I am finding most positive is the fact that everyone is saying that they’ll do it again.
“We always felt the Bathurst community would embrace this service but we didn’t expect it to happen so quickly,” Mrs Hollis said.
