Lorraine Lea Linen is a company which sells their products in the same way Tupperware sell theirs, via word of mouth and at private parties where salespeople demonstrate their wares.
Each year, the company chooses to support one major hospital in Australia or New Zealand that specifically caters for children with cancer.
By donating funds directly to that hospital, the company ensures that the full amount is spent within the selected hospital to help improve the quality of the young patients’ everyday lives.
Last year a Perth Hospital benefitted to the tune of $125,000 from parties like the one being planned for Bathurst, and this year a Hobart facility will receive a much-needed boost.
As a way of raising extra funds for the scheme, Lorraine Lea representatives from Bathurst, known as the Panorama Pillows, will hold the self-proclaimed “biggest linen party of the year” on June 29 at the Bathurst Girl Guide Hall in Charlotte Street.
There will be raffles, auctions, lucky door prizes as well as a free drink on arrival. “There are seven consultants in Bathurst and we’re all hoping to get plenty of interest from as many people as we can to try and raise money for what is a pretty good cause, and one close to a lot of people’s hearts,” said one of the consultants,Mandy Debenham.
She said the party would start at 7pm and everyone would be welcome.
