ANZAC day is a time to remember those Australians who have fought and given their lives in the service of our nation.
We have put together a list of commemorative services and events happening throughout the Central West.
So whether you want to mark the day with a Dawn Service or a game of two up, there is an event for you to attend.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the formation of the royal Australian Navy, to commemorate the occasion Rear Admiral Tony Dalton CSM, RAN will deliver the key note address.

What: ANZAC Day Service | Where: Rockley | When: 8:30 am (a bus will depart form Bathurst RSL club at 7.30am)

What: Soldier’s Saddle Race Meeting | Where: Tyers Park Racecourse | When: Gates open 11am.
The Soldier’s Saddle is an iconic Bathurst event. This year’s Race Day will include a track side VIP Marquee are, two up, fashions on the field and all day entertainment, including a performance form Ryan Sanders, Bathurst’s own The Voice star.
The Western Advocate will run a best dressed competition on the day with voting on our website over the weekend. There are 2 x $50 vouchers from to win. Make sure you are snapped by our photographers to be in the running. For more details click here.

Following the service light refreshments will be provided for Ex-Servicemen and women and invited guests, in the RSL sub-Branch rooms.

What: Parade and March | Where: Parade begins at the Cenotaph in Brisbane Street
The Wreath Laying Service will commence when the Parade is assembled and when concluded, the march to River Park will take place.

Officiating at the Service will be CAPT Louise Beamish, the Cowra RSL Sub-branch chaplain. Guest speakers will be two staff cadets from Alamein Company.
