A MAN charged with firearm and drug offences including supply of a prohibited drug has been released on conditional bail after appearing in Bathurst Local Court yesterday.

Bathurst man Alan John Christopherson, 29, of Suttor Street, was arrested by police following an alleged domestic incident at O’Connell on Thursday evening.
Chifley local area command duty officer Inspector Glenn Cogdell said police were called to an O’Connell property following an alleged assault of a 27-year-old woman at around 6.30pm.
As a result Christopherson was arrested by police.
Following further investigations by police, it was alleged Christopherson may have been in possession of firearms.
Police then obtained permission to search the property, resulting in the seizure of five unregistered firearms, more than one kilogram of cannabis with a street value of around $23,000, approximately two grams of methylamphetamine, body armour vests and a large amount of cash.
The firearms police seized were a .22 calibre rifle; a .303 calibre rifle; a single-shot air-rifle; a single-barrel shotgun and a double-barrel shotgun.
As a result, Christopherson was charged with five counts of possessing unregistered firearms, three counts of goods in custody, two counts of possessing prohibited weapons, two counts of possessing prohibited drug, supply a prohibited drug, possessing unregistered firearms in aggravated circumstances, possessing ammunition and common assault.
Christopherson was refused bail by police on Thursday and appeared in Bathurst Local Court yesterday, where he was granted conditional bail to reappear before Bathurst Local Court on June 17.
