As a result 21-year-old Koen Willis of Isaac Street and co-accused Jarred Kirkham, 19, of Opperman Way were both placed on two-year good behaviour bonds under the condition they repay $4,759.89 to the owners of the vehicles they damaged.
The incidents occurred between 9.35pm and 9.45pm on May 11.
The court heard how, as the pair walked down William Street into Keppel Street, they left torn side mirrors, a smashed window and a dented car in their wake.
One victim said he parked his white Ford Territory on Keppel Street, near the intersection of William Street at 6.30pm that evening, and when he returned at 10pm, he discovered damage to the driver’s side mirror.
Police allege that earlier in the night the two men were drinking at a friend’s 21st at Panthers.
At around 9.30pm Willis was ejected from the club and they both left, walking east along William Street.
Two witnesses on a top-level balcony at the Oxford Hotel observed two males walking along the street. They could hear a number of loud noises as the pair walked past vehicles on William Street.
They observed one of the men throw an object at a vehicle and heard a heavy, loud bang.
Another witness walking along William Street towards the Oxford Hotel heard what he thought were smashing bottles.
The witness followed behind and saw the men turn into Keppel Street where they could hear further loud noises.
As they walked past vehicles they observed damage to several side mirrors.
At around 9.40pm they observed both men kicking at vehicles along Keppel Street. They also observed one of the men throw a rock through the rear window of a car.
Willis then walked to the Park Hotel where they spoke with security at the front door then continued down George Street.
The police were called and at 9.55pm spoke with the witnesses who pointed out the men standing a short distance away in a group of four.
Both men were arrested and charged.
