Twenty-year-old Jessica Louise Ross died after losing control of her Commodore on a sweeping bend, near the O’Connell Plains Road.
Jessica moved to Bathurst with her partner Hunter Cole and their 19-month-old son Cooper Charlie about 12 months ago. She was one of six children, the second child of Sue and Jo Ross of Orange.
Jessica’s father-in-law Charlie Cole said everyone is devastated by Jessica’s untimely death.
“She was a beautiful mum, and very close to her family,” he said.
Mr Cole said Sue and Jo were obviously devastated by her passing. “They were a very close family. They all used to go fishing together.”
“And Jessica was especially close to her mum Sue.”
Mr Cole said on the day Jessica was killed, Jo and two of her brothers were in Bathurst, having travelled down from Orange specifically to go fishing with Jessica and her partner Hunter.
“They were literally knocking on our front door looking for them to go fishing,” he said.
Mr Cole said funeral details have yet to be finalised, as post mortem examinations have yet to be completed.
