The local broker from Igrain is celebrating the company chalking up one million tonnes of sales on its online trading platform.
Since its inception in 2009, the Bathurst-based business has achieved significant year-on-year growth.
Indeed, over the past year alone it has traded more than 380,000 tonnes of grain to its 250 insured buyers.
Mr Roberts said they are an independently Australian owned company, and last year benchmarked on average $8.50 a tonne above the best daily price.
“Reaching one million tonnes is a huge milestone for a local grain business, as it has cemented Igrain.com.au in the Australian grain industry as a secure tool that growers can use to sell their grain to the wider marketplace,” he said.
“The million-tonne mark has been a long-term goal that could not have been achieved without the support of our 5500 graingrowers and 250 buyers, not to mention our dedicated local sales people who operate out of our main office here in Bathurst as well as offices in Young, Crookwell, Gilgandra, and in Victoria and South Australia.”
Mr Roberts said their highlights included trading more than 380,000 tonnes of grain over the past year, having more then 5500 grain growers using the system throughout Australia and being the only brokerage service offering an industry-first grain payment insurance product.
