The 9th Earl and Countess Bathurst were accompanied by Mayor Gary Rush on a busy itinerary which took in the iconic sites of the region.
The first stop of the day was at Mount Panorama, where the pair enjoyed a spin around the race track in a George Reed Special and a vintage Monaro.
Other highlights included a visit to the Chifley Home and Education Centre, a tour and lunch at Abercrombie House and a tree planting at Peace Park near the spot where the Earl’s late father planted beech tree seeds during his stay in Bathurst in 1985.
Both Earl and Countess Bathurst, who last visited Bathurst in 1999, said they were delighted to be able to return.
