One of Bathurst’s most successful community events, the Winter Winery Wander, is back for its eighth successive year and there’s bound to be a huge demand for tickets.
The Wander is scheduled for Sunday, June 15.
Organiser Greg Tucker of Panorama Cruise and Travel (formerly Harvey World Travel) says they expect more than 260 guests to take part in 2014.
To snare a seat, all you have to do is call Mr Tucker on 6331 7044 or be at his business from 9am at 133 Howick Street on April 15.
“Tickets are on sale either by phone from 9am on Tuesday, April 15 or come down to the office in person on the day,” he said. “But you had better be quick because the tickets sold out in a couple of days last year. We expect a line-up out the door on the morning the tickets go on sale.”
According to Donald Alexander from the Bathurst Regional Vignerons Association, one of the new venues last year, the 1859 Brewing and Beekeepers Inn on the Mitchell Highway, will again be hosting guests this year.
Other venues include the award-winning Winburndale Winery matched with Le Gall Patisserie; Vale Creek Wines and the Old Mill Cafe (Millthorpe); Stone Pine Distillery and Restaurant 9inety 2wo; and Renzaglia Wines at Algona (Mt Panorama).
Mr Tucker said this will be the eighth year for the Wander and that he appreciated the support of the Wines of Bathurst and the local restaurants that keep the event growing each year.
“The Wander starts at the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre at 9.30am on June 15 and at each venue there will be food with a matching wine, spirit or beer,” he said. “Bathurst people are getting to know the quality of local wine and food and this year we are seeking to expand our reach into the Blue Mountains and Canberra.”
