- Earth Hour: Join the Sisters of Mercy in Australia and Papua New Guinea and millions of people across the world who will turn off their non-essential lights at 8.30pm for an hour this Saturday night to raise awareness for our planet and for the Great Barrier Reef, one of the seven wonders of the natural world, now under threat as a dumping ground.
- Silver City Saturday, 2pm: Friends of the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum will be presenting a lecture at the Museum, at 224 Howick Street, Bathurst. The lecture entitled Silver City, Minerals of Broken Hill, will be the first of a series of lectures aimed at promoting the unique features of the Bathurst Museum. The lecture will be given by Mr Ernst Holland, recognised for his unique knowledge of cave minerals and an avid collector of minerals from the region in question. Anybody intending to come along to RSVP the Museum on 02 6331 5511, a small charge for non-members and students will apply, and light refreshments will be served.
- West Bathurst Preschool Monster Garage Sale: This monster mania will be held in the front preschool car park at 7 Wark Parade, Windradyne. The bargains start at 8am and will be on offer until 1pm. Such items for sale include books, toys, exercise equipment, bric-a-brac, furniture and lots more. All the proceeds will go to improving the school playground.
- Central West Bushwalking Club hit the track this weekend. Nellies Glen - Devils Hole, Katoomba. Descend through Nellies Glen on the Six Foot Track beside Megalong Creek for 4-5km. Then head back up towards the cliffs, a climb of 460m, the last 1.5km on a very steep track up through the Devil’s Hole. Total distance about 10 kms and not a fast pace. - This Saturday sees the inaugural Evans Arts Council Flower and Craft show and sale. Come and see some spectacular flowers and arrangements by local florists. The flower show will be held in the old Evans Shire Council Building Lee Street Kelso. Opening at 9:00am to 4:00pm, official opening will be 10:00am.
- Catholic Cathedral Parish Fete: Family fun day with all your favorite stalls, including bottle, chocolate stalls, barbecue and many, many more. Celebrating the Year of the Family. Rejoicing in 175 years as a parish. All money raised will go towards the restoration of our Cathedral. Held in Cathedral Church grounds 11-3pm corner of Keppel and William Street..
- Fresh from its enthusiastic reception at the Annual Brucedale Picnic Concert, the Bathurst City and RSL Concert Band will be performing in the Rotunda in Machattie Park on Sunday from 12 till 2 pm. If you missed Brucedale, or would like to hear our exciting current repertoire again, this is a chance to enjoy a free concert in the midst of the mellow Autumnal glow of Bathurst's most beautiful park.
- We are excited to have Fleur McDonald coming to Bathurst to launch her new novel Crimson Dawn. Fleur is one of Australia's most popular and bestselling rural romance authors. She is touring all the way from Western Australia where she helps run an 8000 acre property with her family. We will be holding the launch at Bathurst Library, 6pm for 6.30pm. - I want to wear it again, RSPCA Charity Ball: Whether it be your wedding dress, bridesmaid’s outfit, groomsmen’s get up or the glad rags you wore to a special occasion - here’s the perfect opportunity to “Wear it Again”. The evening will include a dinner, entertainment and a silent auction. All proceeds will go to the Bathurst branch of the RSPCA. - Celebrating April Falls Month: Falls prevention activities are planned for Bathurst Health Service in the main foyer of the hospital from 10am. Activities include: Presentation of articles relating to Falls Prevention Material will be on display from 10am – 2pm in the hospital foyer. Nursing staff would be happy to check your blood pressure during 10am- 11am. The Occupational Therapist from the Aged Care Team who runs the Stepping on Program will be available to discuss this program with community members between 11am-midday. There will be a demonstration of Tai Chi and ability to join in a trial class between 12- 12.30pm in the Rehabilitation Gym. The Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist from the CAPAC Service will provide Balance Assessments and discuss home environment safety issues with interested community members between 12-2pm. - Mitchell Conservatorium lunch-time Concert Series in the Cathedral. This month with special guests Fiona Thompson viola and Rosemary Barnes clarinet perform an exhilarating program of duets and solo items. A suggested donation for entry is $5 single or couple. - BMEC: Inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Jason De Santis’ Wulamanayuwi and the Seven Pamanui had its world premiere at Darwin Festival in 2011, and was an instant hit with audiences young and old.

- Can Assist Bathurst will be holding a Winter Luncheon on Monday, June 2 at Pantano's Bar and Grill, 73 William Street Bathurst. This is a fundraising event and the food is always good.
