FOLLOWING their well-attended season launch last weekend, Cowra Magpies coach Steve Sutton believes his side will enter round one of the Group 10 competition against Lithgow Workies riding a wave of support.

On the back of a strong pre-season which saw the Magpies win the Bathurst Knockout, Sutton is looking forward to the regular season kick-off on Sunday.
"It's been a good pre-season for us," Sutton said.
"Obviously winning the knockout has given the town a bit of a buzz and it has certainly given our boys some confidence.
"We had a lot of people down there [at the launch] and a lot of interest in the team and the club.
"I'm pretty confident we can come up with a good result first up and then build from there."
Workies have lost a few big names from their roster, most notably Jono and Brendan Van Veen, who have been central to the club's success in recent years.
But Sutton still expects a very tough contest.
"The loss of the Van Veen brothers will be a big hole for them," the mentor said.
"But knowing their coach Graeme Osborne like I do, he'll still have them very well prepared and well-drilled and they'll come to Cowra on Sunday and make a strong account of themselves."
Sutton is keen to see his side get the basics right come kickoff.
"I just want to get our defence in order, for starters. I was a little bit disappointed in areas of that against Southcity," he said.
"So, if we can get that in order and play a patient game as well it will go a long way towards giving us two competition points and a good start to the season."
All Magpies sponsors are invited to Sid Kallas Oval for their Sponsors Day, where are a marquee, nibbles and drinks will be on offer.
The league tag starts at 11am.
