- Bathurst Observatory: Night Tours for April 2014. Generally any Friday or Saturday night at 7:30 pm. Bookings Essential for all tours. Mid week tours available for groups. Closed april 11-19. However, on April 15 there is a special viewing evening from 5:15pm of the total lunar eclipse.
- Reflections of Landscape: We can't wait to see this new exhibition on our t.arts Gallery walls in just a few weeks time. Photographs by Zenio Lapka and pottery by Emily Laszuk. Come along and supports these local creatives from 6pm. The exhibition will run for two weeks.
- Need something fun to do? The Bathurst Game Group are holding an International Table Top Day event at Bathurst Library from 10am - 5pm. There will be cakes, cookies & board games to play, so come down and check it out!
- Bathurst City Library Giant Book Sale will be held this Saturday in the library forecourt from 10-2pm with a lovely sausage sizzle.
- Concert: Bliss and Eso are coming to Bathurst, Saturday April 5, performing at the Bathurst Showground with Horrorshow & Seth Sentry.
- B2B Family Fun Challenge will start in the Pit Complex at Mt Panorama. The ride is 11km around CSU, Panorama Ave though it is not a race or time, just a whole heap of fun. Entry is $10/person or $25/family or group of four entrants. There will be lucky door prize along with prizes for best dressed individuals and teams. Helmet are essential so don’t forget yours. - Old Government Cottage Colonial Day: the Historical Society will be holding a special event as part of the Autumn Colours Festival at OGC at 16 Stanley Street. Join us for Devonshire tea and a look into Bathurst’s Colonial past. There will be tours and extra displays of Colonial ladies and gentlemen’s memorabilia. There will also be extra activities which will be confirmed later. The cottage will be open from 11am to 4pm on this day. The Tour and Devonshire tea cost is $14. - Heavenly Voices: Does your child sing? Open auditions are now being held for all singers aged 8 to 14 years for the Mitchell Young Voices. The choir currently consists of about 20 young singers, boys and girls, from the Bathurst region. The main aim of the choir is to provide enjoyment and education in the particular skills of group singing, as well as opportunities for public performance. Book your audition time now for Sunday, April 6 from 12.00pm to 6.00pm. Call the Mitchell Conservatorium on 6331 6622 for more details.
- The Bathurst Uniting Church is holding Messy Church this Sunday - a special action-packed service designed just for kids and their families. There will lots of fun with craft, stories, games and songs. Bring a plate to share as there is also a wonderful dinner too. All are welcome, open to all ages. - The Millthorpe Markets are on this weekend. Stall holders come from far and wide to sell their produce in the beautiful surrounds of Redmond Oval, Millthorpe. Everything from clothing, jewellery, toys, arts & crafts, woodwork, second hand goods, gourmet & fresh produce, cake stalls, plants and christmas decorations are available. Entry to the markets is by gold coin donation with all proceeds going to the Millthorpe Public School P&C. A designated parking paddock is also available, manned by local community organisations.
- Free Info Night at Burraga: Bruce Watt, veterinarian with Tablelands’ LHPA, is the guest speaker at the free Information Night at Burraga Sport and Recreation Club, Lloyd St, on Monday, April 7, at 7.30pm. Bruce will give practical, up-to-date advice for all stockholders as he presents ‘Managing Current Weather Conditions’. Burraga Ag Bureau invites all interested, especially farmers and graziers to attend the evening. A light supper will be provided. - The Royal Bathurst Showgirl Competition is now open. For young women aged 18-24 who want to be part of the Agricultural Show movement and have a lot of fun. - Parents and Littlies (PALS): PALs this week Monday and Thursday, last sessions for this term, from 10:00am till 11:30am. For children from birth to school age. Fun for all ages including craft, playdough, toys, blocks, sandpit, bikes balls, morning tea, music & story time, and lots more etc. Located at Bathurst Uniting Church - head down driveway and we are in the kids play ground. Can Assist is made up of a vibrant fabric of Branches which rely heavily on volunteer members to raise funds to support people in their local community affected by cancer.
