Bella Toohey died after apparently falling off a backyard trampoline in Mandurama.
She was driven to Blayney Hospital by a man believed to be her step father where medical staff performed CPR on Bella, who was critically injured with massive head injuries. Tragically, she could not be revived.
A Facebook image of little Bella was published by Sydney media yesterday and several readers have posted online tributes to the child and expressed their sadness.
Chifley local area command Detective Inspector Luke Rankin said a post mortem on the child was conducted yesterday, which would assist police handling the investigation into her death.
On Thursday, Sydney-based homicide investigators working on the case told reporters the child did not have injuries which were consistent with a fall.
NSW homicide squad commander Detective Superintendent Mick Willing said police “have some concerns about some injuries that child is displaying”.
Local police also want to hear about the family’s movements leading up to the infant’s death.
They are particularly interested in the 24-48 hours leading up to the child’s death.
“We really want to hear from anyone who may have information about the family or the movements of them around that incident,” Detective Inspector Rankin said
