Sydney-based police divers left Wiradjuri Reserve at about 12.30pm.
Police have said the divers had done as much as they could based on the information provided.
State Emergency Service (SES) and Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA) crews are still at the river.
They are expected to maintain patrols along a section of river downstream of the reserve's boat ramp on Sunday afternoon.
It is anticipated they will conduct regular patrols over coming days.
12.15pm: POLICE divers are due to finish scouring the Murrumbidgee River for missing Wagga man Brent Little on Sunday afternoon.
Wagga police have told The Daily Advertiser the divers are expected to return to Sydney at some stage on Sunday afternoon.
Mr Little hasn't been seen since he went missing on Friday night.
11.30am: POLICE divers are concentrating their search for missing 23-year-old Brent Little in deeper water around where he was last seen.
The Murrumbidgee River search resumed on Sunday morning and divers are looking in the water directly opposite a small tree marked with police tape.
The divers are using a State Emergency Service (SES) boat, with members of the Wagga Volunteer Rescue Association still present.
It is expected the search will continue downstream of the Wiradjuri Reserve boat ramp into the afternoon.
It follows a number of sweeps conducted on Saturday afternoon.
According to police, Mr Little had visited the reserve with a woman and went for a swim in the river fully-clothed at about 8pm.
A short time later the woman heard him struggling in the water and attempted to help.
She was unable to and he hasn't been seen since.
7.30am: THE search for a man who went missing while swimming in the Murrumbidgee River on Friday has resumed this morning.
About 8pm Friday, 23-year-old Brent Little and a woman visited Wiradjuri Reserve on Narrung Street, when Mr Little went for a swim in the river fully-clothed.
Soon after the woman heard him struggling in the water and attempted to help him. She was unable to and Brent has not been seen since.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 190cm tall, of medium build and with light brown hair.
Police, together with the SES, Ambulance Rescue and Police divers searched the river on Saturday.
