POLICE have commenced inquiries after a woman was assaulted during a home invasion at Bathurst early Monday morning.

Just after 12.30am, a 58-year-old woman was confronted by two men inside her home on Green Street.
The men, both dressed in dark clothing and one armed with a machete, threatened the woman before pushing her to the ground.
The pair continued to punch and kick her while demanding money.
They fled with cash and police were alerted.
The woman was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics.
Detectives from Chifley Local Area Command attended, established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.
They're appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or suspicious activity in the area, to come forward.
