Competing last weekend in Sydney, the chorus secured the 2014 Australian Small Chorus championship and the silver medal in the overall competition, beating out 16 other choruses from around the country including two previous Australian champions.
With the completion of all Sweet Adelines competitions across North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific, Bathurst Panorama now find themselves ranked the world's number one small chorus for 2014 out of 191 choruses competing.
This is the first time an Australian chorus has ever held the top ranking.
The chorus will qualify as top seeds for the International Harmony Classic to be held in Las Vegas in 2015.
This will be their second time at this competition, having placed fourth in the 2007 Harmony Classic in San Antonio, Texas.
Director Tracey Cam was thrilled with the chorus' performance.
"We are over the moon with our results," Ms Cam said.
"Our chorus members are ordinary women from all walks of life, who are united by a love of singing and a drive to be the best they can.
"I believe that they are truly extraordinary women, and I'm so proud of our fantastic achievement!"
