A short time after midnight on Sunday, police were called to a hotel on Havannah Street following reports a man had been assaulted.
It will be alleged the 52-year-old man had been struck in the head with a wine bottle. He suffered several deep lacerations and was driven to Bathurst Hospital by a family member.
Police from Chifley Local Area Command established a crime scene and arrested a 53-year-old man at the hotel.
He has been charged with reckless wounding and was granted conditional bail to appear at Bathurst Local Court on August 11.
