The foodie heaven function will be held at CSU’s local campus on Friday, August 1.
Now in its second year, the challenge is again being put to the CSU catering team to come up with a special degustation menu. They will be matching their culinary delights with a range of CSU wines, new and old, including the 2009 Reserve Sparkling (awarded trophy for Best Sparkling, 2013 Boutique Wine Awards) and a preview of the 2010 Reserve Cabernet (Orange).
Head of campus at Bathurst CSU Col Sharp said CSU’s winery team would be on hand to welcome guests, host the evening and introduce the wines.
“The Bathurst Winter Feast creates an opportunity for the university and community to interact on a casual level,” he said. “It also gives us the chance to promote Charles Sturt University wines and CSU academic activity in the wine/viticulture areas and showcases our team’s catering capabilities.”
Mr Sharp said 60 people attended last year’s Winter Feast.
“This year we will be capping numbers at 80 guests,” he said.
“Based on our experience from last year, there will be more time allowed for chatting and networking.
“Of particular interest will be the chance to speak with our winery team, including winery marketing manager Justin Byrne and wine maker Andrew Drumm. Vice Chancellor Andrew Vann will also be on hand and we’ll even have some musicians from the Mitchell Conservatorium of Music coming along.”
