A GROUP of Bathurst riders will be out to emulate, or even better, their 2013 performance at this weekend’s NSW Club Team Time Trial Championships in Nowra.

Around 500 cyclists will be fighting it out for the state medals and the NSW Champions Shield.
Last year the Bathurst Cycling Club was the only country club in the top five ranking of the Shield, finishing fifth behind winners Manly Warringah, Sutherland, St George and another Sydney club Bicisport.
The Bathurst club is hoping for a repeat performance with six teams set to compete in both mens and womens teams in all masters categories, including two in the men’s 90-plus years category.
The Bathurst Mens 90-plus team of Brad Roughley, Matt Cowley, Ryan ODonnell, and recently crowned club champ Steve Bennett, look in good form ahead of the titles, taking out the trial conducted by the Bathurst Cycling Club on the weekend.
As expected, the womens team of Toireasa Gallagher, Jill Harris and Donna Scott, who will represent in the Women 90-plus category, was the first female team home in the trial.
They were followed by the team of Marian Renshaw, Rosemary Hastings, Cathy Adams, Kerryn Windsor and Robyn Partridge, who will represent Bathurst in the women’s 150-plus category this weekend.
Cycling NSW have introduced a new category for this year’s edition of the titles with the hosting of the men’s 180-plus category.
The Bathurst team of Graham Stait, Rob Stephen, Jim Lavis and Ian Hill are expected to perform very well in the inaugural title.
The club will field two teams in the men’s masters categories, with a 90-plus division team consisting of Geoff Short, Steve Scott, Glen Partridge and state medallist Ben Taylor.
Current NSW champions Bruce Goddard, Richard Hobson, Mark Simons and Mark Windsor will race the masters 150-plus category.
Meanwhile, youngsters Cadel Lovett in the under nine boys and Emily Watts in the under 15s girls division, both picked up silver medals last weekend at the NSW Country Cycling Championships at Waratah Park Sutherland.
The pair where part of a 13-rider local group who performed very well against quality opposition at the annual championships.
Ebony Robinson and Samuel Patterson also starred, finishing first and second in the non-medal under sevens participation event.
Caitlin Lovett finished fifth in the under 11 girls, while Luke Tuckwell was fourth in the under 11s boys division, with James Patterson fifth and both Will Patterson and Sam Egan also in the top 10.
Kalinda Robinson was unlucky to miss a medal in the under 13s girls finishing fourth with Eliza Bennett sixth and Morgan Watts seventh while Thomas was also in the top 10 in the under 13s boys, won by Dylan Eather of Dubbo.
