A WOMAN who crashed her car after drinking five glasses of wine has been disqualified from driving for one year and been placed on a Section 9 Bond.

Adrianna De Pasquale, 38, of Durham Street in Bathurst appeared before magistrate Michael Allen in Bathurst Local Court on Monday charged with drink-driving with a high range PCA.
Police facts tendered to the court told how on May 19, 2014 De Pasquale left Bathurst and was driving on the Sofala road, towards Ilford when shortly before Peel she lost control of her car on a right hand bend in the road.
Her car then collided with an Armco railing before stopping.
Several other road users stopped to assist her including an off duty police officer, who noted De Pasquale was very emotional and uncooperative.
Police were called and a roadside breath test was conducted returning a positive result. Pasquale was arrested and taken to Bathurst Police Station for the purpose of a breath analysis which recorded a reading of 0.245, placing her in the high range category.
Arresting police noted De Pasquale smelt strongly of alcohol and was unsteady on her feet she was also emotional and her speech was slurred. De Pasquale told police she had consumed five glasses of wine between 3pm and 5pm that afternoon.
Mr Allen convicted De Pasquale of the offence, disqualifying her from driving for a period of 12 months, with Section 225 (3) of the Roads and Transport Act to apply. Mr Allen also placed De Pasquale on a Section 9 Bond for a period of 12 months.
