Dylan Rae, 21, of Mooney Valley Place, Bathurst appeared before Magistrate Michael Allen in Bathurst Local Court on Monday.
Police facts tendered to the court told how on February 15 this year Rae attended the Elephant and Castle Hotel with family and drank an unknown quantity of alcohol.
At 3.45am he went out onto the front balcony of the hotel and became verbally abusive towards other patrons. When approached by security staff he then became abusive towards them.
When security staff asked him to settle and tell them what was wrong he reached into the back pocket of his trousers and pulled out a multi-tool and pointed it at staff and other patrons and started yelling “I’ll stab you, you and you”.
He then walked across the balcony and exited the front gate and put the tool in his back pocket. He continued to yell at people and removed his shirt saying “I’ll [expletive] take all of you you gronks lets go now”.
When police arrived Rae got into a nearby taxi and police told him to get out, but he said to them “I’m not getting out, I’m going home [expletive] off”.
Police drew their firearms on him and told him to get out of the taxi and get on the ground, with his hands behind his back.
Rae got straight out and started yelling “[expletive, expletive]” and laid on the ground. Police handcuffed him and found the tool in his rear right pocket.
Rae was convicted on both counts and put on a Section 9 Bond for 12 months, and ordered him to accept the supervision of Probation and Parole. Mr Allen also ordered the weapon be forfeited.
