Update from Chifley Local Area Command

POLICE have just closed the Great Western Highway between Meadow Flat and Lithgow due to hazardous road conditions from snow falls. The Edith to Jenolan Caves Road is also currently closed due to snow.

Currently the Mid Western and Mitchell Highways remain open but are being monitored by Police.

Please take extreme caution whilst travelling on our roads.

A NUMBER of roads around the Central Tablelands have now been closed as a blast of winter weather brought snow and ice to the region on Friday.

The Great Western Highway is now closed between Bathurst and Lithgow, and the Jenolan Caves Road, between Jenolan Caves and Edith, have also been shut.
