POLICE will address the media after a three-year-old boy was taken to hospital in a critical condition at Oberon on Sunday.
Officers from Chifley Local Area Command were called to a home on Cunnynghame Street about 1pm following reports of a child unconscious, police said in a statement.
Police have been told the child was injured after being knocked over by his family’s two pet dogs while walking at a nearby oval.
The child was airlifted to The Children’s Hospital Westmead and remains in a critical condition.
The press conference will take place at midday today at the Oberon Police Station.
Inquiries into the matter are continuing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
EARLIER
A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy was airlifted to Westmead Children's Hospital in a critical condition on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to a house in Oberon at around 12.54pm to treat the boy who was having a cardiac arrest.
"Officers performed CPR on the boy before he was airlifted to The Children's Hospital, Westmead in a critical condition," police said.
The boy was airlifted to Westmead for further treatment.
