A WOMAN who crashed her car while drink-driving has had her matter dealt with by way of a Section 10 Bond after appearing before Bathurst Local Court last week.

Sarah Jane Bird, 32, of Bannerman Crescent in Kelso, appeared before magistrate Michael Allen on July 28, facing a high range drink-driving charge.
Police facts tendered to the court told how on October 26 last year, Bird was at a house in Rivett Place with her five-year-old daughter. She was involved in an altercation and then left the house with the child and walked to her car.
Facts revealed that Bird, who was in a very distressed state, drove from the area but while driving along Rivett Place crashed her car head-on into a gum tree on a grassy verge.
Police attended and noticed Bird smelt of intoxicating liquor, was slurring her words and was unsteady on her feet.
Bird suffered facial injuries in the crash and was taken to Bathurst Base Hospital. A blood sample taken from Bird returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.161.
She later told police she had consumed an unknown quantity of wine prior to the crash.
Mr Allen dealt with the matter by way of a Section 10 12-month conditional bond.
