He's under no illusions as to how tough it will be for the young Giants against the sixth-placed Kangaroos.

North has won all three of their encounters by an average margin of 81 points.

While most of the commentary surrounding North has been about its up-and-down season, Cameron had no doubts how tough it was going to be facing the top-eight side.

"Unfortunately, North have stitched us up the three times that we've played them," Cameron said.

"The average losing margin is 80 points and that's been disappointing, but I suppose you've got to expect it because we're a young group in its first couple of years.

"It's the side that's probably bothered us a bit, so we need to make sure of our competitiveness, which has progressed so much this year, but if it's off 10 per cent a side like North Melbourne will put you away, straight away."

The Giants take some good form into their final game at Manuka Oval this year.

They lost by 27 points last weekend to a Richmond side now on a five-game winning streak. The week before, they lost to Geelong by just seven points.

Cameron felt with better kicking for goal against the Tigers, instead of their 8.14, the Giants could have snatched a win.

"We're still developing as a young side, but we're confident our Geelong form, confident in our form last week against Richmond ... was pretty good for 3½ quarters," he said.

"We understand that they're on a must-win basis, because they've lost the last two and they're playing for their lives in terms of a better position in the eight.

"But all the indicators are that our guys are good to go again tomorrow."

The Giants coach was hoping to go in as named, with just two changes from last week.

Matt Buntine and Jed Lamb have come in for Josh Hunt (hip) and Sam Frost (omitted), while North have named debutant Kayne Turner and Ben Brown for Majak Daw and Aaron Mullett (both omitted).
