Amba Marie Maclean, 29, of Glebe, did not appear before magistrate Michael Allen and he subsequently dealt with the matter in her absence.
The court heard how Maclean went to the Bathurst Correctional Centre on June 14 this year to visit an inmate.
During a routine search, corrective services officers found several small resealable plastic bags located on her, as well as several syringes.
Corrective services officers also located 1.1grams of liquid form morphine, which Maclean told officers was MS Cotin.
When questioned by corrective services staff she told them she was visiting the jail and had parked her car in the car park, so officers subsequently searched the vehicle where they located 2.1 grams of ice and $1170 in cash.
When questioned about both items she said they were hers, but couldn’t explain to corrective service officers where she obtained the cash from, and did not indicate she was working.
Police were called and when they questioned her she replied “no comment”. She was subsequently arrested and charged.
On possession/attempt to prescribe a restricted substance Mr Allen convicted her fined her $300 and ordered the drugs be destroyed.
On possession of a prohibited drug Maclean was fined $300 with Mr Allen ordering the drug to be destroyed.
On the goods in custody matter, Mr Allen convicted Maclean fining her $300 and ordered the property be returned to the owner when identified.
