The Year 1 Bathurst West Public School student was among hundreds at the school who got dressed up for the annual Children’s Book Week celebration.
Students in kindergarten through to Year 6 dressed up as their favourite book character and the results were impressive.
There were firefighters mixed with fairies, Snow White, Charlie Chaplin and Minnie Mouse.
The teachers didn’t miss out either, with three women dressed as the Three Blind Mice, another as a lady beetle and a male teacher dressed as a princess.
For birthday boy Hayden, he decided to dress up as his favourite Dr Seuss character – The Cat in the Hat.
“I really like The Cat in the Hat,” he said.
When asked about his favourite book Hayden said he also likes Thomas and Friends.
“I just really like trains,” he said.
Year 2 student Jayden Bettler-Dwyer dressed as a firefighter for the day’s celebrations.
“My nan helped me make this,” he said of his bright red cardboard fire engine costume he wore to school.
Jayden said he liked to dress up as emergency service personnel, and came dressed as a policeman last year.
During yesterday’s Book Week celebrations, Bathurst West Public School held a book parade, sang songs, watched a slide show and had a book fair in the school’s library.
Children’s Book Week runs until this Friday, August 22.
