The recruitment drive brings to 178 the total number of people who work at Glenray, including 70 people with a disability.
General manager Cary Graves said while Glenray had lost some people due to natural attrition, a significant proportion of the new staff members were direct support workers for the two new group homes in Bathurst for people with a disability.
“In total, we’ve filled 29 new jobs in Bathurst – that’s a 20 per cent increase over the past 12 months,” Mr Graves said.
He and other key Glenray staff run occasional tours of their facilities.
“The common theme in the feedback we receive from these tours is that people had no idea we had so many diverse business divisions, how busy we are and the quality of our products,” Mr Graves said.
Glenray runs Glenray Manufacturing division which includes Bathurst Wood Products, Bathurst Kitchens & Joinery, Bathurst Work Crews, Bathurst Beds and Bathurst Digital Services.
In addition, there is Bathurst Laundry; a services division which runs Bathurst Lifestyle and Learning service (day programs); Bathurst Accommodation (group homes for people with a disability), and Bathurst Respite (support for carers of people with a disability).
“As an Australian disability enterprise, the whole reason Glenray Industries exists is to support, train and employ people with a disability,” Mr Graves said.
