The 26-year-old was arrested shortly after the incident, at a home in Bonnor Street in Kelso.
It is alleged the disturbance started with a brawl at a house in Perth Street at about 1.30am Tuesday.
Police were called and spoke to a man who indicated that the other people involved in the disturbance had left the scene.
Police subsequently arrested the 26-year-old Kelso man and seized his vehicle for forensic examination. Police also allege a loaded rifle was found by officers at the scene.
Acting Superintendent Luke Rankin said on Tuesday that the parties allegedly involved in the altercation had not assisted police.
Chifley Local Area Command duty officer Inspector Darryl Goodwin said the 26-year-old was charged by police late Tuesday, and was refused bail.
He appeared before Bathurst Local Court yesterday, charged with possessing a loaded firearm with intent to endanger life, possessing an unregistered firearm in a public place, common assault and breaching an apprehended violence order.
