What would you do for a day without technology? Or even a few hours? This year’s Mental Health Month challenge dares you to Look Up, commit time to being device free and using those tech free moments to indulge in something you never have time for anymore. The challenge is YOUnique, meaning you get to decide how much time you’d like to commit being tech free and what you’d like to do with that time. You can use Look Up as a personal challenge or invite your family, friends or work colleagues to get involved and Look Uptogether.
The Look Up challenge involves placing a removable sticker on your frequently used electronic devices (mobiles, ipads etc.) as a reminder that you’ve made a commitment to connect with your immediate world and the important people in your life for a set amount of time (be it an hour, a day, a week!). You collect Look Up stickers and information from the Western Advocate, Bathurst Regional Council , 2BS/ B-Rock or any one of our Look Up community partners throughout the month of October and use them any time you like. When the sticker is on your device you’re taking part in the challenge.
Everyone who participates in Look Up is invited to share their experience. Simply snap a photo of what you do to relax or reconnect with your world and email it to lpinkerton@fairfaxmedia.com.au. We will add your photo to the gallery above.
