The challenge is on - take four photos of any subject to tell a story.
The story could be the fast-paced action at Mount Panorama, or something entirely different, but it's the story that counts.
Great entries have already been received in the Western Advocate's photo competition, with the winner to score the once-in-a-lifetime chance to shadow our press photographer at the Bathurst 1000.
Western Advocate photographer Zenio Lapka has made a living from his photography for more than 30 years, and the chance to learn from him during the iconic race is an opportunity not to be missed.
"It's an opportunity to generate themselves great photos; you don't have to necessarily be into motorsport," he said.
"It's really a prestigious position to do what we're doing; it's just an opportunity that not many people get."
Mr Lapka said he is looking for submissions not just of great photos, but of photos that tell a story.
He said today's cameras are so good "they've virtually made photographers out of everyone", and that is why he is seeking a series of photos that tell a story.
"I'm looking for four images you can weave a story around ... it would favour documentary-style photography rather than just a poster shot," he said.
"Pictures that don't come around every day, pictures that you've only got one chance at.
"Instead of a picture of a car on the track, get pictures of people doing things, a close finish ... even a line of cars tells a story, rather than just a car on a track."
Mr Lapka said all four pictures don't have to tell the same story, and can be a collection of separate stories.
The winning photographer will also score a $100 voucher to use at the Harvey Norman Photo Centre.

Entries close at 5pm on Thursday, October 2.
The winner will be announced on Friday, October 3.
