Troy Hagan, 24, of Schofield Way at Kelso, did not appear before visiting magistrate Dorelle Pinch, who subsequently issued a Section 25 (92) Warrant to bring him before the court for sentencing.
Police facts tendered to the court told how Hagan damaged a window at his mother’s house in the early hours of September 21 this year.
Police told the court Hagan had consumed an unknown quantity of alcohol during the evening, while his mother was at home watching television. She went to bed at around 10pm.
At 1.20am, the accused was conveyed home by police, and when he went inside, he woke his mother up, calling her names. She told Hagan to leave the property, but he refused. She then told him to go to bed and again he refused.
At this point, his mother called police to have him removed from the property.
She went outside the house to wait for the police, but Hagan followed her outside and continued to abuse her.
She then went back inside the house and locked the door.
Hagan began yelling at her, telling her to unlock the door and let him inside. He then threatened to smash the front window, and soon after broke the glass.
His mother again contacted police, before letting him inside the house.
She left the house and waited on the neighbour’s front step for police to arrive, who arrested and charged Hagan.
Her honour convicted Hagan by way of Section 196, and then issued a Section 25 (92) warrant to bring him back before the court for sentencing.
